Jan Ekstedt, Seattle String Quartet founder, has performed in the Seattle Symphony, Seattle Opera, Evergreen City Ballet, Spokane Symphony, the Reno Philharmonic, Waterloo/Cedar Falls Symphony and many others.  He has played with great names on tour including Luciano Pavarotti, Kenny G, Johnny Mathis, Rod Stewart, Crystal Gayle, Natalie Cole, John Denver and many, many others. 

  Jan was the only Strolling Violinist engaged by the Seattle Symphony to open their new facility, Benaroya Hall, and he was the solo violinist that provided music for the first wedding in Seattle's new opera house, McCaw Hall. 

In 2003 Jan graduated from Western Seminary, Portand, Oregon.  He was ordained in 2005 in the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) and now Pastors the First Christian Church of Hampton, Iowa.  Jan now performs with the Waterloo/Cedar Falls Symphony and has founded the Brandenburg String Quartet providing music for events in the Upper Midwest.  His wife, Elaine, continues to operate Ekstedt Entertainment as an internet business from the parsonage in Hampton.  Jan and Elaine travel often to Seattle to be involved with the ongoing success of Ekstedt Entertainment and our large musical family.
